Start with the question, not the product

A lot of people arrive having already decided they want "veneers" before anyone has actually looked at their teeth. We tend to flip that around. The useful question is not which treatment is trendiest, it is what you want to change and how permanent you want that change to be.

SmileFast is one answer among a few. It uses a digital scan to design your smile on screen, then bonds custom composite veneers in a single appointment of around an hour. It is quicker than porcelain and more precisely planned than freehand bonding. Whether it is the right pick for you depends entirely on your starting point, which is what your free consultation is for.

Lining the options up side by side

It helps to see the choices laid flat rather than buried in marketing.

If only one or two teeth bother you, freehand composite bonding is often the most proportionate fix and the gentlest on your wallet. If several teeth need bringing into line together and you want the result designed before it is made, SmileFast is usually the sweet spot. If you are after the longest-lasting, most premium finish and you are happy with more than one visit, porcelain veneers earn their keep. And if your teeth are healthy but simply crooked, clear aligners move what you already have rather than covering it, which can be the more conservative route.

None of these is automatically "better". They solve different problems, and the wrong one applied to the right mouth is still the wrong one.

What SmileFast handles well

SmileFast is a strong fit for gaps, small or uneven teeth, worn or chipped edges, surface texture issues and discolouration that whitening on its own will not budge. Because the design is locked in on a 3D model first, the shape, proportion and shade are agreed before a single veneer is milled, so you are not hoping for the best on the day.

It is also minimally invasive. More of your own tooth stays put than with conventional veneers, and composite work is repairable, so a chip down the line rarely means starting over. Indicative pricing starts at £350 per tooth, and because many people treat only their visible teeth, the total is often far gentler than a full arch.

What we will tell you straight

If SmileFast is not your best option, we will say so. Sometimes a small amount of bonding does the job for a fraction of the cost. Sometimes alignment first, then a light cosmetic finish, gives a result that lasts longer and looks more natural. Our job at the consultation is to scan, photograph and give you a recommendation you can trust, not to talk you into the most expensive line on the menu.

Frequently asked questions

  • How do I decide between SmileFast and porcelain veneers?

It comes down to how long you want the result to last and how many visits suit you, and we will give you a clear recommendation once we have scanned your teeth.

  • Is SmileFast suitable if only a couple of my teeth bother me?

It can be, though for one or two teeth simple composite bonding is sometimes the more proportionate and affordable choice, which we will be honest about.

  • Will composite veneers look as good as porcelain?

For most everyday smiles the difference is hard to spot, and SmileFast gives a designed, natural finish in a single visit rather than over several.

  • Can you show me what my new smile will look like first?

Yes, your smile is built as a 3D design you can see and agree before any veneers are made.

  • What if I am not a good candidate for any veneers?

We will tell you plainly and point you toward whatever genuinely suits you, whether that is alignment, whitening or simply a different treatment.
